An exclusive development of 8 bespoke houses on a drastically sloping site in the village of St Mary Bourne, with a previous use as a scrap metal yard, was brought to KSA by Spear Design Projects Limited.

01 Background
This commission provided a chance to create an individually designed scheme, with stunning views over the surrounding countryside towards Andover.
Working on this challenging scheme with the Local Planning Authority and incorporating the client’s brief, KSA relished the task of producing a scheme for 8 bespoke high-end houses. This included a variety of sizes, from semi-detached 2-bedroom, split level units, to generous 4-bedroom detached houses with linked carports and garages. This prestigious development was completed in 2020 with exceptional market interest.
02 The story
The quality of materials chosen reflects the local area, whilst adding a contemporary edge with pebble grey aluminium composite windows, black timber cladding and oak detailing. Full height glazing, in particular on the south side of the units, gives the homes a light, spacious feel.
Great care and attention was used, not only when designing the exterior of the buildings and the spatial planning of the site using split level gardens, but also to the internal layouts. Making each home individual as well as creating ergonomically functional and pleasing spaces, will be of great benefit to future occupants as well as increasing the desirability of the houses.
