Concept House - Head Office
The practice, as a limited company, was formed on the 17 December 2002 but was initially established as a partnership in 1984, acquiring its office at Concept House in 1986. In 1989 the offices were significantly extended both as an investment and also to accommodate the continued expansion of the practice. Whilst the early years of the practice focused mainly on major commercial schemes, Kenn’s confirmed interest in Special Needs projects led to a major change in direction in the early 90’s.

Founded on a completed Day Centre for the Elderly, the practice employed marketing support to establish a client base with Housing Associations, Health Authorities and Private Trusts. At a time when the economy was suffering a major recession it was a fortuitous move because Kenn Scaddan Associates were extremely busy, a situation which has prevailed to this day even during this current financial turmoil.

Most of the initial schemes for Housing Associations were in Special Needs but the practice was soon invited to carry out General Needs Housing projects. These have included and continue to include projects of various sizes including single dwellings, multi-storey schemes, mixed use developments and urban regeneration schemes of up to 700 units.

The practice has worked for over 25 Housing Associations in the South of England and in 2007 expanded its geographical area to include the Midlands by opening a satellite office locally.  We have made Extra Care design an important part of our portfolio whilst we continue to work with our Special Needs clients across a range of supported housing projects.
